Refuse/recycling collection over Christmas
West Oxfordshire District Council reports:
Extra recycling can be put out next to your boxes in open carrier bags.
Please ensure there is only one material per bag ie plastics or paper or card. For health and safety reasons, glass must go in your recycling box.
Christmas tree recycling: From 16 January you can recycle your real
Christmas trees and festive greenery such as holly and ivy using the free garden waste service. Remove the pot and decorations and place in your garden waste bin, or cut it up and leave it beside it. If you are not signed up for garden waste collections, you can still put your Christmas tree out on your green collection week.
Please ensure your bins and boxes are out from 6am on your collection day.
Garden waste collections will not be running from 24 December until 15 January 2012 to enable the bin crews to concentrate on picking up all the excess waste and recycling generated during the busy festive period.
Additional trucks will be used for approximately 3 weeks after Christmas to cope with extra recycling. Not all the trucks are 'kerbside sorters' so a few will
collect all materials and deposit them in the back of a conventional refuse
collection vehicle. All materials collected will be recycled and delivered to a
Materials Resource Facility and sorted there, rather than at the contractors own recycling plant in Downs Road, Witney.

- 25-26 December: Closed
- 27-30 December: 8am - 5pm
