Charlbury market this Saturday

Despite having 2 cancellations at the market this week, the market continues. Missing Bean Bakery is back with the help of the very lovely Charlbury volunteers. A larger quantity of bread will be available including an olive and fennel seed loaf, as well as the gorgeous pastries.

The usual delicious seasonal veg from Styan is available and top up your packets of fresh coffee from the Last Unicorn coffee stall.

Come down to see us and have a chat.

Hedgefund reuniting family’s

Things are hotting up here at Hedgefund. This week we have reunited the beautiful woody family from Aston, discovered/disturbed by Woody the dog ( one per night! ) to maximum their use of taxis and rescue time😂🤣🤞😂. A big thanks to everyone involved. Nos 6 was found last night!!

We are also caring for ‘Pond Life’ who was found swimming in a Charlbury pond. Boris who reappeared in a neighbours drive needing his hand treating again. Thatch who despite being almost a year old won’t eat dry food and ‘ditch 12’ from ditchley.

Last week we took a pair up to our release run at Soho Farm house for acclimatisation and release. Lea was returned to leafield. So we currently have 8 clients at Hedgefund, although this is increasing daily.

HedgeFund will be at Ashall Manor tomorrow, do come and say hi if you are visiting their wild event and beautiful gardens, you may get to see our babies.
Thanks for all your continued support.

Trading Standards successful prosecution

I have been asked by the person who reported this vehicle to post this on our Forum.  If you spot an HGV attempting to drive down Dyers Hill and over the bridge, please take the registration number and report it to trading Standards.

"Today I was notified of the result of the road traffic case that originated from your report of vehicle RK19 KOW that you saw in Charlbury on the 3rd November 2023, having crossed the weight restricted bridge at the foot of Dyers Hill.

The driver, Mr Ilyas Khan, pleaded guilty to this offence and was fined £283. He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £180 and a victim surcharge of £113.

Thank you for providing both the initial report and subsequent witness statement as it would not have been possible to bring this prosecution without them.

Kind regards

Simon Mitchell (he/him)

Charlbury Community Market this Saturday

The market is back on Saturday after a last minute cancellation last week (apologies again).

This week we have the ever amazing @styanfamilyproduce with their home grown fruit and veg, stock up on your delicious freshly ground coffee with North Leigh's @lastunicorncoffee and there is the very welcome return of @missingbeancoffeeroasters bakery. Our market volunteers will be selling their produce on the Bakery's behalf, so come along to buy sourdough, sandwich loaves, bear claws, a variety of pastries and sausage rolls (including a veggie version).

Unfortunately, our new addition to the Charlbury market gang, Tom from Party  in Your Mouth has had to pull out due to illness, but fingers crossed that he will be better for the market the following week to sell his home made (in Charlbury) ready meals!
