Charlbury MoW Team Cooks and Delivers Christmas Lunch

On Tuesday a team of Charlbury volunteers prepared and delivered Christmas lunch as part of  Meals on Wheels (MoW).  Over the past 10 years alone, MoW has delivered more than 14,000 meals to residents of Charlbury, Chadlington, and Stonesfield, with continuous service throughout the pandemic.  MoW volunteers have served the Charlbury area for nearly 70 years.

MoW works cooperatively to deliver meals once per week to our senior residents many of whom volunteered for MoW in their younger years.   Meals cost £4 each.  Special thanks to the lunch team of Susan, Jules, Marianne,  Chris, Wendy, Liz, Graham, Brian, Shelagh, Annie, Tonya, Peter, Diana, Tony, Bridgid, David, Jim and Ali.  We could use help with cooking once per month on a Tuesday morning.  Please contact mglasgow@theridgegroup.com for more information.

Refuse collection over Christmas

West Oxfordshire District Council has published the revised refuse collection dates for Christmas and the New Year, with collections delayed by two days for the first two weeks, then one day for the next:

https://www.westoxon.gov.uk/binday

Extra cardboard recycling can be flattened and left beside the bin. Other recyclables (with the exception of glass and food waste) can be left inside a clear plastic bag.

Real Christmas trees will be collected for all households (including those without a current garden waste licence), on their scheduled garden waste collection day between Tuesday 9 January and Monday 22 January 2024. Please remove all decorations and reduce larger trees down to sections no longer than 3 ft to assist crews.
