New platform opens at Charlbury station
Charlbury station reopened on time this morning with its new second platform - almost forty years after the line was singled. The platform, for Worcester-bound trains, includes a new shelter, displays and wheelchair-friendly footbridge.
The first train was the 07.13 to Great Malvern, a refurbished First Great Western Turbo, with staff from Network Rail and FGW welcoming its arrival. It made an extra stop at Ascott-under-Wychwood, where a new platform has also been constructed.
