Cornbury Solar Farm refused planning permission
At the Uplands Planning Committee on 4th April, permission was refused to build the solar farm at Cornbury. There were objections were from the statutory consultees - English Heritage and the Cotswold Conservation Board. Although there were no other objections from parish councils or individuals, and Liz Reason from Sustainable Charlbury wrote in support and including describing the signatories to its petition in support, this was discounted on the grounds that the committee had not been flooded with positive letters of support. A change in the rules obviously....
Our local councillors Neil Owen and Mike Breakell gave robust and considered support for the scheme, but the final vote was 7:4 against.
