Charlbury resident writes her memoir

Diana Baskervyle-Glegg was born in Cardiff in 1931 and brought up in a middle-class household which, true to its time, employed a cook and a nanny. In a newly published memoir, she describes her upbringing and adult life in a dramatically changing period that ever fewer people now remember with such clarity.

"I have not grown old gracefully," she writes, "but have had to be carried kicking and screaming into my seventh decade."

Diana now lives in Nine Acres Lane and her memoir is available price £9.99 from Evenlode Books in Market Street.
