In Memory of Michael 'John' Birch

It is with great sadness that we wish to inform you of the sudden death and untimely passing of your Charlbury Stationmaster Michael John Birch, known as John to those who passed through the station on their daily commute.
John passed away on Thursday 14th April having been ill for some time.
His funeral will take place on Friday 29th April at 12:45pm at St Mary's Church, North Leigh, Witney and anyone that knew John is welcome to attend.
John was a very popular, very knowledgeable colleague and friend who will be greatly missed by those who worked with him, and by those he served at Charlbury with such professionalism, dedication and good humour.
Details of a permanent and fitting memorial at the station will be published in due course.
