The Great Debate!!
The noble and illustrious CHARLBURY DEBATING SOCIETY assembled last night in the Corner House for its latest tempestuous gathering.
The motion "The West can no longer rely on American leadership", proposed by human rights lawyer Frances Webber and opposed by campaigner and retailer Michael Flanagan, was adopted overwhelmingly by 77% to 8%, with 15% abstentions.
Contributions were made by veterans of international diplomacy, politics, journalism, publishing and other fields, all resident locally...
