Calling all poppy growers in Charlbury

Earlier on in the year residents in Charlbury were asked by the Royal British Legion to plant poppies to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the start of World War 1.

At Charlbury Fire Station I am creating a Community Collage made with photos of the poppies planted around the Town.

I would like to invite you, your friends and family to stick these photos onto a display that will be placed at the front of the fire station, giving Charlbury one large poppy made by the community.

Please come along and join in on
Date: Saturday 2nd August
Time: 11:00 ?" 16:00
Place: Charlbury Fire Station, Sturt Road.

This is a great opportunity to give the kids something to do in the school holidays, visit the fire station, gain fire safety advice, and more importantly show our respect and admiration to those from the Charlbury area that fought in World War 1 (and other conflicts since).

If you have poppies growing and would like me to take a picture please contact me by phone or email when they are in bloom (details below) and I shall be happy to come round.

Many thanks,
Deb Lamb
