Wed 16 Oct: Charlbury WI October meeting - Oxford’s History of Beer, Sausages & Marmalade

Local historian Liz Woolley will be giving us a talk about the quirky world of food and drink in 19th century Oxford, from the ‘Celebrated Oxford Sausage’ to Frank Cooper’s famous ‘Oxford Marmalade’. Liz will explain Oxford’s unique food and drink heritage and examine the fascinating relationship between food production, tourism and politics in the city. To be followed by tea, coffee & cake. Charlbury WI is always delighted to welcome visitors and new members (ladies only please). 7.30pm in our NEW VENUE at Charlbury Primary School.
