Fri 16 Jun 2017: Finstock's Forgotten Highways at Finstock Village Hall

This event is in the past.

Finstock Local History Society - starts at 7.30pm.

Shaun and Tony will make a short, 20 minute, presentation at the Village Hall on the highways and byways in Finstock that disappeared in the nineteenth century, exploring where they were and why they no longer exist. This will be followed by a steady walk to see some of the routes and what can be seen in the landscape to help understand why they were there, and why their importance diminished. The walk will be about just over a mile, and some will be on slightly uneven ground so stout footwear should be worn.
Members free, non-members £2.50.
Note earlier than normal start at 7.30pm.
The Photo shows a protest at the closure of a lane in Finstock c.1899.
