Healthwatch Oxfordshire webinar – your chance to have a say on new plans for primary care

Healthwatch Oxfordshire is hosting a webinar on Wednesday 28th February at 5.30pm at which people can hear about and comment on plans to improve local primary care services.

NHS Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board (BOB ICB), the organisation that plans, buys and oversees health services for nearly two million people across the BOB area, is developing a Primary Care Strategy.

Following consultation with partners and the public, in January the BOB ICB published its draft strategy setting out its ambitions for the future of primary care, which comprises general practice, community pharmacy, optometry (eye care) and dentistry.

Priorities in the draft strategy include:

• Improving access so patients get the right support first time to manage their health and wellbeing
• Developing proactive and personalised care in the community setting for patients with complex health needs
• Preventing ill health by using and sharing data with our partners about the health needs of local communities.

BOB IB is now seeking people’s comments and views on its draft strategy. This can be read in full on BOB ICB’s engagement website. A summary and Easy Read version of the plans are also available.

Dan Leveson, ICB Place Director for Oxfordshire, Louise Smith, ICB Deputy Director of Primary Care, and Rachael Jeacock, ICB Senior Primary Care Manager, will be at the webinar to talk about the strategy, hear views and feedback on it and answer questions.
