Purely for information (and not to prompt controversy), some updates about the breadth of FOWOC’s activities and fundraising has been added to the charity’s website which you will find at Home – About us and about the Rushy Bank development and challenges.

To put comments below about the nature of the objections on the planning application into some fuller context - while agreeing wholeheartedly with Rod’s comments about the significance of numbers - a summary of the individual responses to date is:

                                    Charlbury                   Surrounding                          London                     Total

                                                                            villages

Objection Comment            117                              10                                       1                           128

Support Comment               12                                                                                                         12

As highlighted on the FOWOC website the charity pays close attention to the expert assessments of the Cotswolds National Landscape Board (or AONB Board as Rod refers to them) which is the statutory body responsible for conserving and enhancing the Cotswolds National Landscape. Anyone interested in reading the detailed response from the CNLB raising objections to the Rushy Bank application submitted this week will find it on the Planning Portal. There are also comments raising objections submitted by the Charlbury Conservation Area Advisory Committee and CPRE.
