Fri 18 Aug 2023, 10:28 The Patient Group Committee of the CMC have been very encouraged to see the progress made in improving the appointment system over the past few months. Because of inevitable clinical staff changes with moves and family commitments, we understand that many patients are keen to know which medical staff are available, and how Dr Brookes-White’s Patients are being allocated to other GPs. While the CMC website is being updated, everything you need to know about the Practice/staff changes and important health updates is supplied to the virtual Patient Group regularly by email . Please contact patientgroup.charlbury@nhs.net to receive these regular emails, all you need to do is read them, no other commitment is required. Many Practices are experiencing Covid infection in their clinical staff including the CMC. It is really important to avoid spreading viruses to the staff so they can continue to help us. Please see below. The vaccination programme ( Covid and Flu) will begin in October as this is thought to give the best immunity during the later winter months . Please do not contact the Practice to find out about your vaccination as this takes up receptionist time and delays ill patients being able to get through for advice. You will be contacted if you are eligible. Latest advice from the UK Health Security Agency (formerly Public Health England): UK Health Security Agency chief medical adviser Professor Susan Hopkins said that adults who “feel unwell” should wear masks. She warned of low flu vaccination rates among children as schools prepare to return. Professor Hopkins said: “It’s important to minimise the spread of infection in schools and other education and childcare settings as much as possible. If your child is unwell and has a fever, they should stay home from school or nursery until they feel better and the fever has resolved “Adults should also try to stay home when unwell and if you do have to go out, wear a face covering. When unwell don’t visit healthcare settings or visit vulnerable people unless urgent. “Remember that flu vaccination is still available for all eligible groups and is the best protection against the virus. We have seen good uptake in older age groups but vaccination among young children remains low.” |
