Broadband keeps going down

To find out what cabinet you are on, the use the BT Wholesale checker and put your phone number (or other details in). Note, that I'm definitely on cabinet 3 which is on the Enstone Crossroads. Sandy's reference to 9 Acres close may be to the property location, not the cabinet.

The following is the list of drop-outs that I've had since about 21:00 yesterday, 7th Sep (taken from the technical log of my router). You can see there have been several. Previous drop-outs are on the router log I swapped out to see if that's the problem, but I could get that those too if people want to compare logs.

23:27:09  07 Sep. dsl:VDSL Link Down: duration was 8492 seconds
21:04:36  07 Sep. dsl:VDSL Link Down: duration was 3169 seconds


As far as surge protectors are concerned, then they only protect the mains and don't do anything if a lightning strike causes a power surge on the phone line (which is what did for a router of mine about 5+ years ago). As it is, my router is on a UPS anyway, which protects against mains surges and power interruptions.
