Dear All,

1st January 2021 - 9am til 4pm

As always the residents of Charlbury are warmly welcomed to walk in the Deer Park at Cornbury on New Year's Day between 9am and 4pm. Access is via the main North Lodge entrance.

We are happy this can go ahead within the Tier 4 Covid-19 regulations; as long as the rules around 'Exercise' are adhered to: "You can continue to do unlimited exercise alone, or in a public outdoor place with your household, support bubble, or with one other person if you maintain social distancing".

We are entirely satisfied that access for the local community to enjoy this annual event does not require travel in to the area; and we trust that everyone will remain very conscious of other residents and remain socially distanced AT ALL TIMES. However, if you do have concerns, or are feeling ill / show any symptoms, then please do not attend for your own peace of mind and for the safety of others.

With this said, please (as always) be reminded that:

  • Walkers are requested not to park on the drive at North Lodge and to remain within the boundaries of the Park.
  • Please keep to the roads and hard tracks at all times.
  • Sorry but dogs, even those well behaved and on leads are not allowed in the park as they upset the deer.
  • Please respect the privacy of Cornbury House and the other houses within the Deer Park. These are family homes and some people are self-isolating.
  • Follow any other guidance as provided by signs or a member of the Estate team

Additional notices:

  • Following the recent rain fall and flooding the lakes are very high so please do not walk around them / get close - for your own safety.
  • Hand sanitiser will be available as you enter / exit the North Lodge pedestrian gates (one way system to prevent individuals passing); so please close the gates behind you.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Happy New Year,

The Estate Office Team
