The results of the first of the new analyses of the Cotswold Line blog are given below (please see the rest of this thread for the rationale behind this change). All the data refer to February services. I picked three outbound trains from Charlbury and two return trains; I would like to have analysed more services but these were the only ones that were reported at least 50% of the time.

06.37 Charlbury to London: this train was reported on 19/21 occasions. It was cancelled once, on time on seven occasions and delayed (more than 1 min late) 11 times. Punctuality is thus 39% and reliability 95%. The average delay to this train was 5 mins.

07.29 Charlbury to London: this train was reported on 21/21 occasions. It was cancelled twice, on time on eight occasions and delayed 11 times. Punctuality is thus 42% and reliability 91%. The average delay to this train was 8 mins.

08.33 Charlbury to London: this train was reported on 14/21 occasions. It was not cancelled at all, ran on time on three occasions and was delayed 11 times. Punctuality is thus 21% and reliability 100%. The average delay to this train was 14 mins.

18.16 Oxford to Hereford: this train was reported on 16/21 occasions. It was cancelled once, on time on six occasions and delayed nine times. Punctuality is thus 40% and reliability 94%. The average delay to this train was 7 mins.

18.55 Oxford to Worcester Shrub Hill: this train was reported on 15/21 occasions. It was not cancelled at all, ran on time on six occasions and was delayed nine times. Punctuality is thus 40% and reliability 100%. The average delay to this train was 7 mins.

So the 08.33 is the inaugural winner of the coveted "Worst Performing Commuter Train on the Cotswold Line" award. If the figures above are representative of FGW's performance as a whole then they suggest that the modest improvement reported last month has been maintained. There is still a great deal of room for further improvement though, and travelling on the 08.33 would not seem to be a desirable experience at present.
