Sun 14 Aug 2022, 13:48 (last edited on Sun 14 Aug 2022, 13:52) I uncovered beautiful five finger parquet floor under living room carpet that had been down when I moved into my house. I restored it myself. Depending on how well it’s been preserved, give it a good clean (used lots of elbow grease, household cleaning vinegar and washing up liquid) and then waxed using Liberon. Spare parquet pieces can be bought cheaply off EBay and replace any damaged. I used matt clear varnish on the hall floor as needed to be hardwearing. I had to sand the hall floor first though as it was in a worse condition. Matt wax and varnish is good as it reduces glare from the sun. |

Fri 12 Aug 2022, 13:35 Hi does anyone know of someone local who can restore some original parquet flooring? We’ve just taken up the carpet in our new house and it’s got some flooring we’d like to try and save. Thanks! |
