Learning Italian - how about starting a conversation group?

Six of us met tonight at the Corner House, and some of us had nice conversations - thanks! We suggested that we arrange more meetings on a three-week cycle - Tuesday week 1, then Thursday week 2 then Saturday morning week 3 and so on. Hooefully all will be able to attend at some stage. Hopefully that will work and I’ll arrange a venue in due course.

Good Morning, Last Thursday I was at Rose and Crown and I have met Shiela , that has worked in Italyfor years as tourist guide. we had a good one hour of conversation. I am unable to meet any Tuesdays so sorry not be at the next appointment,  call from John Dora, hope in that occasion will be identify one or two days when more people are able to partecipate.

I've sent all contributors on this thread a personal message re Tuesday 5th July and NOT 5th June as stated in my pm! (i.e. next week). This crossed with Paolo's re Thursday when I have an evening engagement but might be able to say 'Ciao'!

I think, as there is so much interest in this potential group, it would be a good idea for everyone to meet up and decide how to go forward.  Possibly meet up in one of Charlbury's pubs?

Thank you Paolo. I’m available either Monday or Wednesday at those times. Could also do another week day if people are meeting up then. Hopefully we’ll be able to find a day and time that works for everyone.

I'd love to join, too. I lived in Italy for about 5 years. Although that's a distant memory now, I'm still passably fluent and would enjoy the chance to practise with fellow Italophiles.

Would love to join a group and could do evenings, though weekends would probably be easier. In my distant youth I was a fluent Italian speaker but I haven't had much practice recently.

If it’s something slightly informal I would love to join too though I wouldn’t be able to commit to a regular time I don’t think, but keen to practice. Like Jean I did the Corner  House class for a while and am chatting away to Duolingo but real people would be more interesting!

I can resist no longer. I first learnt here in Charlbury twenty years ago when we had a class in The Corner House. Then went to an Italian Language School in Italy. Please keep me informed of your plans John.

Hi John, nice idea. I speak Italian and would be happy to join a group to practice or  hone skills. Timing wise I’m fairly flexible and it would be great to meet other Italian speakers / learners out there!

Just curious to find out if anyone is interested in joining an Italian conversation group to hone language skills? Having not long started a DuoLingo online course I'm thinking such a group could be a great benefit. 

I know of someone keen to help.  

If there's interest, would it be an evening or weekend thing I wonder? And how many people would we need?
