See Judy Dod's entry re History of Charlbury in January this year, with the story of Edwin Glasgow's grandson, as an advert for a Charlbury Society talk.

Yes Tim,  According to the records a Hotspur II, BT793 did crash in Charlbury on the 17th August 1942.

There used to be good thermals from Didcot power station, there are none to be had from Southill Solar Farm!

My daughter and I watched it come down. Kudos to the pilot who landed it with aplomb, despite it being rough ground and uphill!

I see that a large glider has landed in a field off Banbury Hill. Pilot seems ok as he is wandering around. Just ran out of thermals i suppose.

Didn't a Hotspur glider crash in Hixet wood in the 1940's. Is two in 80 years a trend?
