Defaced posters

On my way back from the Co-op today, I noticed that a poster outside the Memorial Hall and another outside the Friends Meeting House appeared to have been deliberately defaced. Both posters were advertising the talk tomorrow evening at the Memorial Hall about the `Just Stop Oil' campaign. If someone has defaced them, perhaps they would explain why they think that this is acceptable behaviour?
