Very well said Michele. The kids need Forest School and what you all do to give them a better understanding of their natural environment.

Forest school is brilliant for little kids. Both mine were able to go to forest school and the experience was really fantastic.

The fire pit is used to teach the kids how to cook over an open fire. It's something that's repeated in Beavers/Rainbows, Cubs/Brownies, and Scouts/Guides and helps to teach kids fire safety.

Plus the Forest School isn't run in someone's garden in London -- it's run out of town in a designated forested area and the fire is burned for a short, finite period of time.
