Wed 14 Jul 2021, 18:06 Exactly that – the long straight is a footpath (no cycling), but the hill down to the gate by the Black Prince is a bridleway (cycling allowed). Blenheim are doing some interesting work with a ‘cluster’ of local villages that might in due course lead to some more safe, off-road cycle routes across their estate. |

Wed 14 Jul 2021, 17:59 It appears from the OS map that as a public right of way this is only a footpath from the gate until the point where it takes angle turn to the left. It then becomes a bridleway past the end of the lake to the green gate. |

Wed 14 Jul 2021, 17:35 Can anyone tell me if the main road in Blenheim from the big gate just before you get to the Duke of Marlborough coming from Charlbury, through to the “ green gate” in Woodstock itself…is that a bridleway? Signs say No cycling but as I understand the Countryside Act 1968, you can walk/ride a horse/cycle along a bridleway. Any enlightenment appreciated! |
