Yellowhammers sound most likely. They used to be a common feature in summer, popping out of hedges all over the place, looking like they’ve been dipped head first in a pot of yellow paint. Less common now, but I have seen a few and heard the 'little bit of bread and no cheese' song when out walking.

On the road to Chadlington, two lovely little yellow-headed birds popped out of a hedge and quickly disappeared. I thought they were yellowhammers but am not so sure…any ideas, please?
