Earth embankment just off the Witney road

I suspect they're landscaping the grounds of the 'Palladian' mansion, the gatehouse for which is under construction around the corner on Akeman St. The proposed site for the solar park is on the other side of Akeman St, so that's less likely.

It looks as if there is a more complex story.

 On the one hand, it seems to be the ludicrously grandiose St Johns House, Akeman Street, Ramsden -- currently marketed by Savills (price on application).

It's also the correspondence office address of Tusk Developments Ltd. and Global Finance Online Ltd. Both companies with links to Malta. A lot of swapping of addresses as registered on companies' house. There's another dormant company as well, All Saints Tree Nursery (formerly All Saint's Capital Ltd.)

An overlap of names looks as if it was originally Singe Farm, and that means there are also links with the proposed Akeman Solar Park.

I suspect the earthworks have more to do with the Solar Farm than the proposed mansion. Interested to know what others make of it all.

Some people have trouble getting planning permission for a small extension, but the same district council gave planning permission for this.

This has been covered in the Forum before, and, as far as I recall, a brief summary is that it is because someone has bought the land behind the bank on which to build a mansion, and does not want us plebs to be able to see it.

It has been there for several years, but seems to have been made considerably higher over the past couple of months.

On the road to Witney I've noticed over the last few months, a huge embankment of earth being built up for several hundred yards. You can see the embankment from the road on the left before you get to the Bird In Hand pub. Just wondering if anyone has any idea what is is? I've looked on Google Earth but the photos must pre date it... 

Intrigued... and nosey...
