"THE Liberal Democrats, Greens and Labour have agreed to form a coalition to lead Oxfordshire County Council. ... The new ruling coalition will be called The Oxfordshire Fair Deal Alliance.

In a joint statement, the three party group leaders, Liz Leffman (Lib Dems), Liz Brighouse (Labour) and Cllr Pete Sudbury (Green), said 'We are pleased to have reached agreement to work together at this crucial and challenging moment for our county and the region.' "

Interesting that Robert Courts doesn't even get a mention in the article- he really doesn't seem to be having an impact in his constituency. I wonder if he will be selected next time as the PPC for the Tories?

Christine, the article is in today’s Observer, page 37.

The Guardian/Observer online has today a long article with the title "The view inside the People's Republic of Chipping Norton", about the loss of conservative seats in Oxfordshire, and how this might be more than a passing trend. (Chippy voted Labour which was a safe Conservative seat for 15 years.)

I think the article will probably be in Monday's printed newspaper, as it was in the Live News section.

Also, Charlbury's Liz Leffman was yesterday voted Leader of the LibDems in Oxfordshire. Congratulations to all concerned.
