Banding machine

Richard's machine turns out to be too savage .. designed for metal tape, where the cure would be worse than the disease.

So the quest is back on, please:  for that rather eco-unfriendly (I imagine) polypropylene tape.  Any more ideas out there?

Does anyone have, or know of someone friendly who does have, a banding (poly strapping) machine?  I have to send something large & unwieldy to New Zealand, and it looks likely to burst out of its box.  I will of course cheerfully pay.
