A Buzzard

I have seen buzzards around the countryside on a considerable number of occasions. I think, nationally, they do quite well, although in our area they are greatly out numbered by the kites.

The most obvious difference from a distances is that buzzards have rather deeper wings and a rounded, rather than forked tail. To my eyes they also look rather more robustly built and are not so agile in flight.

Yep! There’s quite a few around, and sitting on a lowish perch, watching, is in character.

A very large bird landed on my Judas tree today. I grabbed a camera but was too late.It was brown and possibly golden. Could this be a Buzzard?
