Gareth, I would argue that some of the fantastic beers that have been sold at The Rose & Crown would constitute a "substantial meal" in themselves; there have been many, but "Titanic Plum Porter" immediately springs to mind!
(And arguably, the plums together with the barley and hops would constitute three of your "five a day"!)

There are going to be challenging definitions of what constitutes “a substantial meal”.

Non-food pubs are going to suffer a loss of trade at what would be their busiest few weeks of the year, and will get zero additional support from Government.  The result will be that many, sadly, will close.

As you will be aware Oxfordshire will move into tier 2 from the 2nd of December. 
Because of this unfortunately we can not open the club due to not selling food. 
this will be reviewed in 2 weeks we will keep you updated and hopefully see you all again soon.
