Thanks, Chris, I will nevertheless await the Primary School Playground Watch report this afternoon.

PS Chris, do you work at Cornbury? What was it that caught fire? How? etc.

He was right about the size of the fire. It was a frightening sight which is why I rang the Estate Office . I have never seen anything like it and I am sure a bit scary for the children. Into space? Well, where else would the thick black smoke go???

My son (who is 6) assures me that the whole of Cornbury House has burned to the ground, as witnessed by all the whole of the primary school from their playground. The flames were bigger than a two-storey house, in fact they reached outer space, or 'nearly touched space', and there were lots of fire appliances in attendance. I thought the truth should get out there somehow.
