Yes Alan is the piper, it was great to hear him on the Playing Close

The Charlbury Remembrance Service is at 3pm as it always is .It is being Live Streamed from St Mary's , see post on What's On on this Web Site there will be no congregation due to Government rules

The War Memorial is not on the Playing Close it is in the church.

The monument on the Playing Close was built to commemorate a visit by Queen Victoria made possible by the opening of the railway in the nineteenth century!  That was even before the Boer War!

I am getting confused.  More and more common these days.

I thought John was the beekeeper and Alan the piper?

Remembrance Sunday was celebrated today at our War Memorial by John. Harrison , Piper.  Sadly only a few people attended but I for one would not have missed the occasion.

Thank you Mr Harrison.
