Leek crop failure

We've had ours covered since they went in with a fine agrimesh,  well pinned down all round & for the first time in 3 years we have a good, unblemished crop.  It's all we've foundvthats worked.

For the second year running we have lost most of our leek crop to the Allium leaf mining fly maggots. Anybody had any experience of insect proof mesh to stop these, or should we just not bother trying?
