Tue 16 Jun 2020, 22:21 Driving down the M5 around Birmingham earlier this evening, lightning flashes every few seconds and a cloud burst, the motorway was literally like a river. |

Tue 16 Jun 2020, 17:51 Yes LightningMaps apparently uses Blitzortung data. Interesting just now to see lots of activity across Cheltenham and (prior to that) Stow and its environs. |

Mon 15 Jun 2020, 19:03 Weather nerds (like me?) might find this website interesting It shows - in real time on a map - where lightning occurs. In the 'settings' one can configure it to show the thunder sound front in real time. So one can tell that a lightning bolt, say like this evening near Churchill (there were a few) can be heard here in Charlbury. It does not distinguish between cloud to cloud, cloud to ground or ground to cloud lightning bolts. |
