Styan vegetable boxes

Next delivery is this Saturday, with online ordering deadline 7am Thursday morning - there is no minimum spend and it is easy to select just what you want. The BBC1 programme was a great opportunity to meet the Styan family back on the farm near Evesham. Styan, Bibury Trout and the other suppliers are very pleased with the quantity of orders coming in from Charlbury and plan to keep going with the weekly delivery even after the pandemic is over.

If you want to learn a bit more about the Styan family, catch up on yesterday's (Mon 4th Jan) edition of 'The Farmers Country Showdown' on BBC1. Very interesting and Charlbury actually gets a brief mention when Mrs Styan asks her son how the orders were going for their Charlbury delivery!

It's another of Christine's generous contributions to the life of the Charlbury community.

Apparently 90 people or more are using the service. 

Just outside Charlbury but a very pleasant walk across the fields is the little market garden of Church Lane Produce in Spelsbury (see https://www.facebook.com/churchlaneproduce/). Their polytunnel is just about to come into its own, beginning with lettuces, and their eggs are very free range (at least, the hens are). Their stall is just on the corner on the main road. Warning: they do sell out!

From my point of view the weekly vegetable boxes have transformed the lockdown experience.  Many thanks to Christine Elliot for organizing them, and to her and others for arranging the pickup.  May we hope that they will continue once the emergency is over?
