Further to my earlier post, I have been corrected by my good lady who affirms that the said ambulance did put its 'blues' on but only after driving gingerly down Sheep Street weaving around the parked cars. At least it got through: a pantechnicon and, later on, a coach, had to reverse from The Horseshoes back to The Bull this morning because of parked cars leaving insufficient room for passage.

There was an ambulance outside the Rose & Crown at about that time, but it didn't leave with its 'blues' flashing.
