Thanks just need something that going to work so that I’m not an all inclusive buffet for the mosquitos when I’m away, so any recommendations would be great.

I've got Pyramid Trek (deet free) on the recommendation of a friend who's tried quite a few alternatives. It claims 'as effective as 50% deet" but I've not yet tested it out myself;)

Having walked the West Highland Way last August, we have a couple of headnets if anyone wants to borrow them anytime soon. You will not win any fashion prizes, but they do the job.

If you are planning to go to Scotland in the summers months then, in my experience, the Avon product doesn't work.

If you don't want to use a DEET containing spray, try a product called 'SMIDGE' which does work.

The main annoyance is that the Midgies get into your hair, a headnet over a hat, long sleeves and button cuffs, or a bonfire are also essential.
