Wed 6 Jun 2018, 23:34 Janet If the steel joist is only encased by 15mm plaster board, you will probably find that a good magnet will accurately locate it. They are certainly better than "stud detectors" for locating studs or metalic shields for electric cables |

Wed 6 Jun 2018, 23:11 I've got to find a steel joist hidden behind plasterboard on the ceiling. If I could borrow a small metal detector if would save having to bore a long series of wormholes in the ceiling with a drill! Only need it for a few minutes to find said RSJ. |
