I am with the Co-op-in Jan 2017 I was on a monthly DD of £62 in March 2017 they dropped it to £57. In June 2017 I opted for a new 3 year deal and the DD went up to £71 then in Jan of this year it was dropped to £52. I take from this that the Co-op are keeping an eye on useage and making necessary adjustments to my benefit. We do not have a smart metre.

I tend to change energy supplier yearly to benefit from low rates. My current supplier just increased the monthly charge after a meter reading, by 134%. Which meant they'd owe ME about £ 1,000 by year end! I'm not keen to build their bank account with my money, so I got it down to a sensible level.
