Another Scam - BT Outreach

This morning, my husband received a telephone from a withheld number from an Asian gentleman claiming to be from BT Outreach and asked me to put this on the Forum.

The Asian gentleman said that due to a modification at the Charlbury exchange our internet connection will become unstable and needs to be fixed. The gentleman asks you to go to your computer (he assumed it was a Windows PC) and explains how to start up Performance Monitor. This is completely erroneous as he claims that a zero reading on the graph confirms a poor internet connection which it does not. He then asked via a link for access to your PC so he can fix. Under no circumstances should you ever give access to anyone to your PC unless it is a bona fide support contractor with which you have a known contract. To confirm authenticity typically service contractors will of previously agreed access protocols. Hope this helps.
