Thanks for that John, they did seem to disappear after a short time thankfully.
Our lawn is full of ants nests we probably need to do something about that at some point .
I wonder with all rain and humidity reason it happens.

Leave them be Pearl they are only flying for a brief time, the blackbirds were having a feast on them in my garden last evening. You can get poisons from garden centres,these are best applied in the spring before they start to lay eggs (thats the ants not the birds!!). jh

Help please, early evening we suddenly had lots of flying Ants come up from the lawn, bit scary.
Do the gardeners of Charlbury have any solutions other than the normal ant powder we use? I wondered if there may be something stronger to put on the lawn where there appear to be these lumps. Grateful for any ideas.
