Thank you very much for your kind comments about Charlbury Museum and its volunteers. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your visit and that we were able to help with your family research. Mr Brookfield was a great Charlbury character and very well-respected in the town. Thanks again, Celia Faulkner and the museum committee.

My wifes great-great grandfather was stationmaster Thomas Brookfield and his wife was Charlotte (nee Sturdy). We visited the museum on Saturday and met Peter Bennett who guided us around various documentation and pictures of her ancester's. Peter also located where Thomas and Charlottes grave was and we also found graves of the Sturdy family.It was a fascinating experience and we could not have achieved so much without his help. Also the two ladies at the museum made us very welcome and we felt very much at home in Charlbury. You have a great community spirit and something to be very proud of. Many thanks to Peter, the ladies at the museum and those we met on our visit. We are from Solihull.
