This all came about as our dog was set upon, fortunately she is now none the worse for her scare ( we are £130.00 worse off
, vets bill ) the command of English was only mentioned as a conversion could not be had with the 2 in question as they spoke very little or no English, so all a bit futile.

I see. Maybe we should also be told whether they were swarthy, foreign looking, or had other useful distinguishing features.

Not normally relevant, but in this case where a crime has possibly been committed it could be very helpful in identifying the culprit(s)

Obvious question (and not off topic I hope), but what is the relevance of the young mens' command of English?

There are NO aggressive breeds. All dogs have some aggression, particulary if they feel threatened, anxious or if they are protecting their pack, this includes their human/s.Sadly some humans feel that it necessary to train their dogs to be aggressive which is sad for them, their victims and their breed, as then ignorant people then feel it necessary to lablel that breed and similar breeds as aggressive!

Herewith a thread so that discussions which are going off-topic can be cast into the outer darkness (as some would have you believe!). Enjoy yourselves.

Interesting, I have to admit that as a boy I was indeed lacking in certain departments and therefore purchased a Bull mastiv and used it in a threatening manner, particularly in turnip fields and in proximity to vulnerable terrier type dogs. I was fortunate then to have been bequeathed some money which I used for a simple enhancement. I also sold my mark 2 Escort at that time. I now have a miniature dachshund called Floss, who was recently poorly after choking on his ribbon. My life is changed. It's lovely that we can read gender stereotypes here on our lovely forum saving me from wasting my pennies on that nasty Daily Mail. It's great to live amongst you.

Unfortunately people, mainly boys/men often have a pathetic 'Macho' thing regarding dogs, usually because they are lacking in some departments & they think it makes them look big to have either a big dog or an aggressive breed, it's difficult sometimes when seeing some owners with their dogs to decide which one is the dumb animal! Some of these people really need to grow up, & if they did but realise it other sensible dog owners like myself & the majority of other owners actually laugh at & feel sorry for them! But Nigel/ Karen you really should report it to the Police, if these individuals are walking their dogs here they probably live round here somewhere, so someone knows them/ where they live.
