I suspect that you are talking about the papers that the shop leaves on the pavement in a carboard box at the end of the day. I, for one, am guilty of having picked one many weeks ago, only to be told later that they were probably returns. The box was wide open, as if inviting passers-by to help themselves. So, I apologize, and would like to suggest to make clear that these papers are not being thrown away.
