For small patches in awkward or cold corners, we've always found that these work well to stop it coming back www.lakeland.co.uk/24573/Mega-Moisture-Trap. Or you can buy low-energy dehumidifiers (my sister swears by hers, which they use in their utility room where they dry their clothes).

Always wear a face mask when cleaning this type of mould. The spores can lead to very nasty chest complaints.

Also drying wet clothes on radiators or an airers at this time of year also causes the condensation which leads to damp

Mould is almost always due to inadequate ventillation for the amount of water vapour in the room. As a start make some checks to eliminate obvious candidates such as leaking plumbing & drains, missing/broken tiles, gutter/downpipe problems and blocked/broken drains.
If you are getting the mould around the window reveals you may have what's known as a 'cold bridge' whereby the plaster that's near the window frame is cold due to it being in contact with the outer leaf of masonry. Condensation then occurs on this cold surface.

Hi could anyone recommend a specialist that could look at the issue of damp (causing mould) in a house locally? Thanks.
