You could format the disk, but if you were being ultra paranoid, somebody could recover the disk with a few tools- unlikely though.

I always use eraser ultilities which U can pick up free.There are various shareware programs out there that will wipe your disk for you but you do need a little IT knowledge. Look at the sysinternals web site and they have a few free programs that will do the job. Failing that take the drive out and smash it up.

I have an unwanted home PC that I would like to donate or recyle, but I want to be sure that all personal information is removed first.
Does anyone know how to do this or where I can find out how?
