Fri 23 Feb 2007, 13:13 Save 50 thousand quid and do it out of straw bale, rammed earth and/or old tyres eartship style at the back. Long tradition in all of them of successful implementation, and there are experts within close range of West Oxon with knowledge of all these ecological methods to make useable spaces. Bit of cladding and one would never know the green low cost materials that went into it if you don't like lime render - after all its only needed to keep the warmth in and the rain off, doesn't have to be pretentious statement of architectural pomposity! |
