Charlbury Refugee Action Group has just has this request from WODC:

"We are on the look-out for people who might wish to teach English to the families, at this time on a voluntary basis. We are also on the look-out for work or placement opportunities with local businesses for the two men already with us here in Witney."

If you can help, please email Heather McCulloch at Heather.McCulloch@WESTOXON.GOV.UK or phone her at 01993 861562.

There are two Syrian families living in Witney at the moment, and a further four are expected late June or July.

There is also an Adopt a Room scheme in operation, whereby individuals or groups (clubs, churches, etc) undertake to provide all the furniture and other equipment for one of the rooms in each of the houses/flats. If you would like more information about the scheme, please email charlburyrefugee@gmail.com and we will send you details. You can then see if it is something you can undertake.

Thanks for your help.
