On April 1 I put up a news item about automatic traffic monitoring which would also measure a drivers heart rate and blood pressure. Some thought this an 'April Fool' joke.
Today's edition of The Times includes an item headed 'End of thermometers' which says 'The NHS is trialling a wireless monitoring device which could spell the end of the thermometer'.
The article goes on to say that patients will 'wear a patch which measures heart rate respiration and temperature'. The patch takes readings every two minutes and sends the data wirelessly to hospital computers. Who's laughing now?
