Fully laden Routemasters weigh 12t, so no they should not have crossed Dyer's Hill Bridge with its 7.5t maximum weight limit!

We saw the buses but thought they were a prom do or something! Should they have travelled over the river bridge anyway?? Plus I hear there have been some construction accidents at Soho due to the pressure of getting it ready to open...

It didn't get to Carnforth until 01.05 the next day www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U54194/2015/07/03/advanced

I realise that Soho House is aimed at the media elite & is not exactly short of money; but if the train really did go forward from Charlbury empty, it would be very interesting to know how much the charter cost.

Try www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U54192/2015/07/03/advanced

It took over three hours to get here apparently. Nice Pullman rolling stock!

There is a good photograph of it just after it departed from Charlbury on its way back to Carnforth at www.hondawanderer.com/57315_Shorthampton_2015.htm

Via this rather circuitous route: www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U54192/2015/07/03/advanced ...

Can anyone explain how it got from Victoria on to the Cotswold Line?

That is quite probable as my Granddaughter has just started working there and I believe Saturday was the launch day.

There were 3 red routemaster buses waiting at the station when the London train got in at 19.46. They seemed to be bearing the logo of the new Soho Farmhouse at Great Tew. I suspect this was some sort of corporate hospitality/PR launch event, presumably with that extra train bringing the guests up.

No idea what it was up to; but there is a U-Tube of it at Old Hill (tagged 5Z19 Charlbury - Carnforth ecs) here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nh_8EvufhAc so presumably somebody knew it was running.

According to Realtimetrains, a train, operated by West Coast Railways, ran from London Victoria to Charlbury, where it terminated at 2010 on Friday 3rd July. It then changed its identity to become an empty stock train departing Charlbury at 2022 and ran via Worcester to West Coast's depot at Steamtown Carnforth. Has anyone any information regarding this train? Charlbury is a most unusual destination for a charter train on a Friday evening.
