Just borrow a rake and rake the stones into a pile at the end of each patch. Much easier to pick up.

I've decided in a moment of daft optimism to plant a veg patch, but the soil under the turf is rather rocky. Anyone out there have a garden sieve I could borrow for an as-yet unspecified amount of time**?
